Adding to my grudges on Google Maps’ performance (despite it being head and shoulders better than its competition), my latest gripe is it knowing what’s on the way.
In particular, there are some instances when I’ve given up on voice services for proper noun. Driving down the 401, I’d given up on asking for the next ONroute (a play on words of Ontario and enroute).
In cars, voice on phone mounted on the dashboard seems iffy. Trigger words don’t work well, wrong results require dangerous correction, or endpoint doesn’t get detected. This will get better but we’re maybe 1–2 years from making the experience not frustrating.
