The biggest issue with pairing Bluetooth speakers (or any BT device for that matter) is that pairing requires human intervention. Each device has its own nuance for getting into pairing mode and each phone requires swiping or menu navigating to set up a connection.
Given the huge numbers of Bluetooth speakers I saw over the past week at consumer electronics shows, there’s a large market for these. They must sell. I’m curious though how many of them go unused because they frustrate the recipient of the device during the pairing or connection process.
Looking ahead at future generations of BT products, the low hanging fruit is intelligence to understand which device could be a target for the BT audio and to pair and connect automatically to it. This could make our surroundings much more interactive and easy to use.
