Catering Voice to Audience

Listening to the narration to a YouTube video on the ABCs, my wife and I were amazed by how the narrator made the ABCs sound that much more interesting and engaging. During a 54 minute video with 26 versions of the ABC song being sung, good narration is essential.

While it’s important for companies to create a brand around their hardware voice interaction, there is still room within elements of the same TTS voice to cater to the intended audience. Changing the speed, cadence, mood, or even which words or phrases are used to match those of the the user can make the interaction that much more convincing.

The more ways we can match language without changing the identifiability of the voice, the better.
