One strange interaction where voice fails is in the car. I’m not talking about the mechanical interaction with many voice enabled car systems but Android and Google, especially with paired BT audio.
BT has a lag and that lag wreaks havoc on the timing of voice interaction. While audio input can still go through the phone, getting the tone for Google Assistant to indicate the start of recording can be off by half a second or more… same with endpoint. If someone uses the BT connected microphone for input, the delay can cause early endpoint issues for Google Assistant.
What this indicates is that there will probably be another standard over the next few years for low latency BT start. The more two way audio and voice interaction might rely on distributed BT devices, the more demand there will be for this new protocol.
