Essentially Where?

It was very exciting to hear in May about the Essential Home and Phone. However, a few months later and the news has been scant. Why? There’s not public announcements on this but one can fill in the void with speculation:

• Issues with the team
• Issues with funding
• Issues with technology
• Issues with manufacturing
• Issues with communication (i.e. everything is fine, we just haven’t been updated yet)

There are millions of things that could go wrong.

Making your own phone is not an easy proposition. Yotaphone comes to mind. Combine that with a new OS and a far field device… it compounds the difficulty exponentially.

We’ll see what the true reason is soon enough.
