There are still gaps left in voice interaction for players other than Amazon, Google, or Apple (or Samsung) to get involved in building their own voice products.
Specifically, these include:
- New modes of interaction. These combine voice, gesture, cameras, or other inputs.
- Unique experiences. These can be used by brands that allow for a more direct, unique experience with fans and customers.
- Local based interactions. Not relying on a off-device APIs.
- Enhanced security. Super secure interactions that don’t involve send data directly to the NSA.
More options will definitely open up over the coming two years.
