One irksome thing that I have not figure out the logic for is the lack of Google Assistant access on Chrome. Google totes “One Assistant” for all your devices except where people might be spending hours everyday.
Here, Apple (strangely) has a lead in offering at least hot key-based Siri access. Alexa and Google Assistant are strangely lacking where they they could easily eat up a new endpoint. Most people who would use Echos or Google Home devices have browsers open in front of them all day long.
There have been some third party attempts at making Alexa available (think of Echosim) but as of yet, none has been developed for Assistant.
This is low hanging fruit, Google.
(Irony… listening to “Closer” by Lookout — the Pixel with Google Assistant launch song — while writing this)
